Limited Run Games has announced physical editions of Rise of the Tomb Raider Switch 2, the 20 Year Celebration. Pre-orders open on October 9, 2026, with a standard edition and a collector's edition.
The digital game has been on the console since June, in a surprise release published by Aspyr. Limited Run's announcement, posted on X on October 6, puts Lara Croft's Siberian expedition on physical media as well. The official description says the 20 Year Celebration edition includes all additional content and bonuses.
What is in the collector's edition
The Collector's Edition adds a steelcase, a Trinity patch and a desk ornament, according to Nintendo Life's report based on the distributor's material. Limited Run did not say in the original post whether the cartridge holds the full game or whether some content will require a download. That detail is not confirmed.
Nintendo's Australian store listing for the digital 20 Year Celebration lists about 17.6 GB, handheld, tabletop and TV modes, local co-op for up to two players and online play for two. The package includes the season pass, with Baba Yaga: The Temple of the Witch and Cold Darkness Awakened, plus extra outfits and weapons.
Why physical media still matters on Switch 2
Rise of the Tomb Raider launched in 2015 and is part of Crystal Dynamics' reboot trilogy. On Switch 2, the limited physical edition follows a pattern Limited Run already uses for classics and ports: a short pre-order window and collector extras, without replacing the digital version already on sale.
Prices were not given in the public announcement used as a source. Pre-orders are set for October 9 on the Limited Run Games site.
