Resident Evil Requiem $500 million: Alinea estimate vs Capcom's 8 million units

Alinea Analytics estimates Resident Evil Requiem has passed $500 million in revenue since February 2026. That is not a Capcom earnings disclosure. Capcom's Platinum Titles list puts cumulative sales above 8 million units.

What Alinea and Capcom say

Alinea's Rhys Elliott said Requiem is outpacing every other Resident Evil game on revenue and could eventually pass the Resident Evil 4 remake, which the same firm has modeled above $600 million after three years. Alinea also cites about 8.5 million tracked players, a different metric from Capcom's official units.

In Alinea's split, PlayStation 5 accounts for 48.1% of those players and Steam 43.4%. More than 4 million copies are estimated on PS5, about 30.8% of them physical.

Film and discounts

Zach Cregger's movie opened around $108 million worldwide. Alinea argues Capcom discounts moved Requiem's recent revenue more than the film did at full price, even as engagement rose on Resident Evil 2 and Requiem after opening weekend.

Why it matters

If the model holds, Requiem becomes Capcom's strongest recent commercial engine in survival horror. Until Capcom publishes revenue, the confirmed figure remains 8 million units, not half a billion dollars.
