Rayman Legends Retold launches today, October 1, 2026, as a reimagining of the 2013 classic rather than a simple remaster. Ubisoft revealed the game in June during a Sony State of Play and kept the digital date for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC. Anyone waiting for the Glade of Dreams gets a rebuilt adventure in Rayman Legends Retold, not just a higher-resolution copy.
What happened?
Developed by Ubisoft Montpellier and Ubisoft Milan, Rayman Legends Retold rebuilds the adventure of Rayman, Globox, Barbara, Grand Minimus and Murphy in 3D, with a new story and fully voiced cinematics. A shadowy villain spreads chaos across the Glade of Dreams. Players rescue Teensies, fight bosses and cross a never-before-seen sixth realm.
The standard edition of Rayman Legends Retold is priced at $39.99 or €39.99. Every edition includes Rayman Origins: Enhanced Edition. Deluxe, at $49.99, adds an art gallery and the Retro Pack. Pre-orders receive the Hoodlum Havoc Pack. The Switch 2 retail launch edition, dated December 3, adds a printed map, three lithographs and a slipcase.
Why it matters
Rayman Legends is one of the most praised 2D platformers of the last decade. Rayman Legends Retold changes the visual language, adds a realm, four new musical stages, dragon rides and a refreshed Cave of Trials. Kung Foot returns. The score brings back Christophe Héral and Grant Kirkhope.
What changes in practice
It supports solo play or up to four players locally. Digital stores are Ubisoft Connect, Steam and the Epic Games Store, plus Ubisoft+, GeForce Now and Blacknut. There is no announced version for the original Switch or PS4.
