The Famitsu poll of October 4, 2026, put Pokémon Winds & Waves back on top of the most-wanted list, with 583 votes. The Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive pair, planned for 2027, stays ahead of remasters and series that still have no locked date. The figures come from GoNintendo, based on the Genki account.
What happened?
Japanese magazine Famitsu runs a weekly reader poll. This issue puts Pokémon Winds & Waves first with 583 votes. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is second with 504. Persona 6 is third with 456, and Persona 4 Revival is fourth with 382.
The full top 10:
- Pokémon Winds & Waves — 583
- The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time — 504
- Persona 6 — 456
- Persona 4 Revival — 382
- Final Fantasy VII Revelation — 318
- Grand Theft Auto VI — 304
- Dragon Quest Monsters 4 (Switch 2) — 212
- Dragon Quest Monsters 4 (Switch) — 186
- Final Fantasy Resonance — 159
- Xenoblade Genesis — 138
On September 19, Winds & Waves already led with 569 votes. The clearest move this week is Ocarina of Time passing Persona 6. GTA VI rises to 304, and Final Fantasy VII Revelation stays fifth with 318.
Why it matters
The Famitsu poll does not measure sales. It measures purchase intent among Japanese readers. Pokémon Winds & Waves was announced by The Pokémon Company for 2027 on Switch 2, with open islands, an ocean and new starters. Staying on top months after the reveal suggests interest has not cooled.
Ocarina of Time in second also shows Japanese readers still asking for the 1998 classic, without a formal Nintendo announcement this week. Persona 4 Revival, set for February 2027, remains high.
What changes in practice
There is no new date or trailer. The list confirms the priority: a mainline generation on Switch 2 first, Nintendo classics next, and Atlus and Square Enix RPGs behind them. Dragon Quest Monsters 4 appears on both Switch 2 and the original Switch.
