Pokémon Starbucks Japan: Pikachu latte and 41 items from September 30

The Pokémon Starbucks Japan partnership is the first official collaboration between Starbucks Coffee Japan and The Pokémon Company in the country. From September 30, 2026, participating stores will sell the Pikachu Honey Cream Latte and a 41-item merch line with original art by Hikaru Ichijo.

What happened?

The campaign theme is “Connection Over The Coffee Adventures.” The hero drink is an iced espresso with honey and caramel, honey-flavored whipped cream and heart-shaped toppings that nod to Pikachu’s cheeks. Tall size only: 678 yen to go and 690 yen in store. Each cup includes a collab sticker while supplies last.

The recipe came from the Pokémon + Starbucks Barista Battle, which drew more than 700 entries. Winner Junko Nitta of the Koriyama Asaka store in Fukushima will see her drink sold nationwide from September 30 through October 8, 2026. Official details are on the Starbucks Japan site and in GAME Watch coverage.

Why it matters

A national Starbucks line with 41 SKUs and exclusive art is a larger footprint than a one-off café pop-up. Purchase limits of one item per person apply in stores from September 30 to October 2.

What changes in practice

Travelers in Japan can buy the latte in stores; the online shop carries more of the collection. No international drink rollout has been announced.
