The PlayStation Plus October 2026 catalog unlocks three games from Tuesday, October 6: F1 25 on PS5, Hunt: Showdown 1896 on PS5, and Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 on PS5 and PS4. Claims for PlayStation Plus October 2026 stay open until Monday, November 2, according to the PlayStation Blog.
What happened?
Sony Interactive Entertainment announced the PlayStation Plus October 2026 lineup on September 30 in a post by Adam Michel, senior director of content acquisition. The titles are for Essential subscribers. Anyone who has not claimed September’s games needs to do so before Tuesday’s swap.
- F1 25 (PS5): Codemasters’ official game of the 2025 Formula 1 championship, with Career, My Team 2.0, and F1 World, where a player squad races AI drivers.
- Hunt: Showdown 1896 (PS5): the current era of Crytek’s extraction shooter, where hunters contest bounties against monsters and other players.
- Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 (PS5 and PS4): a voxel square Earth is invaded by giant enemies, with four-player online co-op and two-player local split-screen.
Why it matters
The PlayStation Plus October 2026 monthly drop is the cheapest on-ramp of the subscription. October mixes an annual racing sim, an extraction shooter, and a chaotic co-op shooter. Gematsu lists the same three titles, available from October 6. The same week, Kingdom Hearts Collection launches on October 8 outside Essential.
The PlayStation Blog also mentions Halloween-themed item bundles in games such as Call of Duty: Warzone and Overwatch. Those are in-game extras, not part of the Essential claim trio.
What changes in practice
From October 6 to November 2, subscribers add the three PlayStation Plus October 2026 games to their library and can keep playing them if the subscription was active at claim time. F1 25 and Hunt: Showdown 1896 are PS5-only. World Brothers 2 also runs on PS4.
