PlayStation Plus October lineup unlocks F1 25, Hunt: Showdown 1896 and EDF World Brothers 2

The claim window for the October 2026 PlayStation Plus monthly games opens on Tuesday, October 6. According to the PlayStation Blog, Essential members can add F1 25, Hunt: Showdown 1896 and Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 to their library until Monday, November 2.

Sony Interactive Entertainment announced the lineup on September 30. What changes now is the stage of the event: the titles become available to claim, not only announced.

What enters the library

  • F1 25 (PS5): the official game of the 2025 Formula 1 championship, from Codemasters. Sony's post highlights Career, My Team 2.0 and the F1 World multiplayer mode, in which the player races as a squad against AI drivers.
  • Hunt: Showdown 1896 (PS5): an extraction shooter set in 1896, with boss hunts, clashes against other hunters and a bounty extraction. Sony describes solo play or groups of up to three.
  • Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 (PS5 and PS4): a voxel-style spin-off with a four-soldier team, four-player online co-op and two-player local split-screen on PS5 and PS4.

Why it matters

October already stacks paid releases on the same day, including Gears of War: E-Day and Star Wars: Galactic Racer. The Plus lineup does not replace those launches, but it offers a subscription path for official racing, extraction and arcade co-op without a separate purchase.

Essential is the tier cited in Sony's announcement for these monthly games. The company did not detail, in that post, any extra regional restriction beyond the October 6 to November 2 window. Anyone who has not claimed September's lineup still needs to check the earlier deadline on their own account: Sony did not extend September's date in the October post.
