Frontier Developments updated the Planet Zoo 2 Zoopedia with six new species days before the October 13, 2026 launch on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series. The studio posted the drop on @PlanetZooGame.
The new animals
- Monarch butterfly
- Bactrian camel
- Wild boar
- Common ostrich
- Threespot damselfish
- Moon jellyfish
The mix covers exhibit insects, land mammals, a large flightless bird and two saltwater species. The Bactrian camel needs arid conditions; boar and ostrich fit temperate forest and savanna; damselfish and jellyfish expand the sequel’s aquariums, a major step beyond the first Planet Zoo.
Why it matters
Planet Zoo 2 adds wildlife reserves, aviaries and aquariums. Each Zoopedia batch changes how players plan habitats at launch. Trade coverage puts the confirmed roster above 120 species in the final stretch.
The game is not out yet, and Frontier did not say in this update whether any of the six is locked to a special edition. Pre-orders are live on the three storefronts.
