The Pan Dorobo creditless OP is out: a rap-style opening without credits, the episode 1 synopsis and preview cuts of Keiko Shibata’s picture-book anime. It premieres on NHK E-Tele on October 2, 2026 at 6:40 p.m. Friday in Japan.
What happened?
The official site and Crunchyroll News confirmed the opening set to “Pan Dorobo no Uta,” sung by Ayaka Asai and Junichi Suwabe. The ending is Kyary Pamyu Pamyu’s “Pang Pang Pang.” The track hits stores at midnight on October 3.
Baker-POV camerawork, talking breads and the meme “mazui” face define the sequence. Takahiko Kyogoku directs at Shin-Ei Animation.
Why it matters
The books have sold more than 6 million copies in Japan. The creditless OP is the tone card for a national Friday kids slot.
In practice
Lock October 2 on E-Tele. No international window was confirmed at writing. The CD follows on October 28.
