Season 3 of The Apothecary Diaries released its second promotional trailer on Friday, September 25, 2026, previewing Eve's ending theme AIYOU before the October 2 debut.
What happened?
The PV shows Jinshi carrying the weight of being the emperor's brother, Maomao standing with him as disasters hit the realm, and the mystery of a celestial maiden. It ends with the emperor saying it is time to let Yue choose a flower, and Jinshi whispering with resolve and sadness, according to Mantan Web.
Eve, also behind the Witch Hat Atelier opening, takes the ending. The artist said AIYOU came from the idea that the human heart cannot be solved like a mystery, and unspoken feelings can put a universe between two people standing side by side.
Why it matters
The show remains one of streaming's biggest historical dramas. Season 3 is split-cour: cour 1 starts October 2 at 11 p.m. in Japan's Friday Anime Night block; cour 2 is slated for April 2027. An original-story film by Natsu Hyuuga arrives December 11, 2026. Crunchyroll will simulcast the TV season.
