OnePlus has locked in a launch date for the OnePlus 16 in China: October 12, 2026. The date was posted on the brand's Weibo account and reiterated at Monday's gaming event, where the company framed the phone as a performance and gaming flagship.
What is confirmed
OnePlus China president Li Jie (Louis) said the 16 is meant to deliver the line's strongest performance yet. The company promises native 185 FPS in titles such as Peace Elite, Arena Breakout, Nizhan: Future and Naruto Mobile, on a display that can reach 185 Hz in games and 165 Hz system-wide.
The chip is Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, shown at the Snapdragon Summit. OnePlus is also carrying forward Wild Chaser Gaming Core and its Esports Tri-Core silicon stack, an evolution of the setup used in the OnePlus 15.
Why it matters
This is OnePlus's first flagship after it left North America and Europe in July. Only China is confirmed so far. Pricing has not been announced. China pre-reservations list memory options from 12 GB/256 GB up to 16 GB/1 TB and colors including Dark Forest, Mars Masterpiece and Tomorrow's Starlight.
OnePlus also showed a robotic-arm test across ten phones, claiming the 16 fired and eliminated opponents first under the same network conditions. That is a marketing demo, not a substitute for independent reviews after launch.
What is still unknown
- Official price and availability outside China.
- Full camera and battery specs (leaks mention a 200 MP main sensor and 50 MP periscope telephoto).
- Whether a global SKU will exist.
