OnePlus has confirmed that the OnePlus 16 will be unveiled in China on October 12, 2026. The flagship is built around gaming performance: Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 on a 2 nm process, a display that reaches 185 Hz in supported titles, and custom touch and Wi-Fi chips.
What happened?
The date came from the brand's official Weibo account. OnePlus also confirmed the Extreme SKU of Qualcomm's sixth-generation platform, the variant that adds Matrix Cores to the Adreno GPU for on-pipeline AI work.
The company had already shown three colors, a 200 MP 1/1.4-inch main camera, a 50 MP 3x Sony IMX882 telephoto and a 50 MP ultrawide. The UI runs at 165 Hz system-wide and climbs to 185 Hz in selected games.
Why it matters
The OnePlus 16 is part of the first wave of 2 nm Android phones aimed at on-device agents. Qualcomm markets the Extreme chip as the fastest mobile CPU of the generation, with an Oryon core clocked up to 5 GHz. For gamers, the pitch is a pocket console: native 185 fps in some titles plus dedicated display, network and touch silicon.

What changes in practice
China gets the keynote on October 12. Pre-orders are already live in the OPPO store ecosystem. Memory configs point to 12 GB or 16 GB of RAM and up to 1 TB of storage. A 9,000 mAh battery and 100 W charging appear in certifications and leaks, but were not locked in the date announcement.
ColorOS 17 is expected at launch. Pricing will be revealed on stage and is widely expected to rise versus the OnePlus 15 because of the Extreme silicon and 2026 memory costs.
