Octopath Traveler on GOG becomes a real option today, October 8, 2026. Octopath Traveler and Octopath Traveler II arrive on the GOG store for the first time and join the GOG Preservation Program, the store's effort to keep PC games compatible over time.
Launch discount
The arrival was announced in early October, with store pages and trailers already live. From midnight Pacific Time on October 8 until midnight on October 18, Octopath Traveler is 70% off and Octopath Traveler II is 60% off.
What changes for PC players
Both games were already on Steam, Xbox for PC, and consoles, including Switch and Switch 2. The GOG versions are their DRM-free debut on that store. Octopath Traveler follows eight travelers across Orsterra with the Break and Boost system. Octopath Traveler II takes another party through Solistia and adds a day-night cycle, Path Actions that change by time of day, and Latent Powers.
For players who already own the Steam versions, the games themselves do not change. The point is the DRM-free copy and the explicit preservation commitment, while PC JRPG catalogs remain split across several stores.
