Mouthwashing, the first-person psychological horror game developed by Wrong Organ and published by Critical Reflex, officially arrived on consoles and Xbox Game Pass on October 29, 2026.
What happened?
After debuting on PC via Steam in September 2024 and earning strong critical and audience acclaim, the title Mouthwashing is now available for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One. It also joins Xbox Game Pass on the same day, expanding access to one of the standout indie horror experiences of recent years.
Limited physical editions for PS5 and Switch are planned through Fangamer. The game retains its original premise: a claustrophobic experience aboard the space freighter Tulpar, where the crew faces isolation, scarcity and psychological breakdown after an accident.
Why does this matter?
Mouthwashing stood out by avoiding traditional jump scares and focusing on narrative horror, oppressive environmental design, non-linear structure and a lo-fi aesthetic that leaves room for the imagination. Critics and players praised the depth of the characters, the disorienting pacing and the emotional impact of the story.
The arrival on consoles and Game Pass during the Halloween period makes the title even more accessible. Since its PC launch, the game has accumulated significant sales and awards, including recognition in narrative categories.
What changes in practice?
- Available now digitally on PS5, PS4, Switch, Xbox Series and Xbox One.
- Immediate inclusion on Xbox Game Pass.
- Promotional discounts ongoing on Steam.
- Limited physical editions coming soon via Fangamer.
For fans of indie horror and dense narratives, it is one of the strongest recommendations of the season.
