Atlus and Studio Zero released the Metaphor: ReFantazio Switch 2 demo Prologue worldwide on the eShop on Monday (13). Progress made in the demo can be transferred to the full version, which arrives on November 12, 2026.
What the Metaphor: ReFantazio Switch 2 demo offers
The Prologue Demo lets players experience the opening section of the game, including the start of the journey to lift the prince's curse, the first four dungeons, the ability to unlock seven of the more than 40 Archetypes, and meeting six followers (including party members). According to Atlus, the save created in the demo continues in the final version with the same story and character status.
Why the Metaphor: ReFantazio Switch 2 demo matters
Metaphor: ReFantazio, from the creators of Persona 3, 4 and 5, originally launched in October 2024 for PS5, Xbox Series, PS4 and PC and received a Metascore of 94, plus Best RPG at The Game Awards 2024. The Switch 2 version arrives at a more accessible price (around $39.99 or 3,990 yen in Japan) and the demo gives Switch 2 players the chance to start the adventure before the official release.
