Mabinogi Mobile launches in Japan on October 7 after 200,000 pre-registrations

Mabinogi Mobile launches in Japan on October 7, 2026. Nexon confirmed the date in a September 17 release and said pre-registrations have already passed 200,000, with a new 250,000 tier opened after that mark.

What happened?

Nexon Japan’s official notice, republished on PR Times, sets Wednesday, October 7, as the start of the domestic service. The game is developed by devCAT and published by Nexon. In South Korea the service began in 2025, reached number one on the App Store and Google Play and won game of the year at the 2025 Korea Game Awards. Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau already have the title this year.

The original PC Mabinogi arrived in Japan in 2005. The mobile version rebuilds the Celtic-inspired world of Erin with customization, combat, cooking and housing. At Tokyo Game Show 2026, Nexon’s booth recreated Tir Chonaill. Voice actress Rie Tanaka appears in booth materials as Nao.

Why it matters

Mabinogi Mobile is one of the rare cases in which a slow-life Korean MMORPG crosses Korea, Greater China and now Japan on a two-decade IP. The 200,000 pre-registrations are Nexon’s own figure. 4Gamer placed the launch among this week’s reasons to log in, next to Aion 2.

What changes in practice

Players in Japan get in on October 7. The notice does not set a server-open hour. Outside Japan, the Korean client and the Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau versions already exist; Nexon’s note does not announce a Portuguese global server or a Brazil date.
