Leak shows 28-core Intel Nova Lake CPU beating Core Ultra 9 285K and Ryzen 9 9950X3D in single-thread

A leak of benchmarks in PassMark PerformanceTest 11.1 points to results for processors identified only as "Intel 0000," associated with the upcoming Nova Lake-S generation. The 28-core sample records up to 5,210 points in the single-thread test, surpassing selected baselines of the Core Ultra 9 285K (around 5,059) and the Ryzen 9 9950X3D (around 4,805).

The data was found by a VideoCardz reader and also reported by TechSpot. Submissions date back to September, and test conditions are unknown. Reported frequencies are around 3.3 GHz base with turbo near 4.8 GHz, and listed RAM is approximately 16 GB.

What the numbers show

In single-thread, the lead is about 3% over the 285K and 8.4% over the 9950X3D. In overall CPU Mark, however, the sample sits at 61,509 points, behind the 285K (67,274) and the 9950X3D (72,066). It still beats the Core i9-14900KF. Eight-core entries show highly variable results.

These are unverified pre-release sample results not confirmed by Intel. Retail performance may differ due to firmware, drivers, or final configurations.

Nova Lake lineup context

Previous leaks suggest configurations such as 8P + 16E + 4LP-E for 28-core models, with 125W TDP on K variants and LGA 1954 motherboards. Models with extra cache (BFC) also appear in rumors. Expected launch between late January and March 2027 for the first SKUs, according to unofficial reports.

Intel has not yet confirmed specifications or dates. The benchmarks offer only an early indication of single-thread performance, while multi-thread and efficiency still need validation.
