Season 3 of Kusuriya no Hitorigoto (The Apothecary Diaries) premieres on October 2, 2026. In Japan the series returns to Nippon TV at 11 p.m. JST. Crunchyroll confirms the fall simulcast and published the creditless opening today; the first episode goes live on the platform from 8 a.m. PT.
Opening and staff
The opening theme is Yorushika's Kumo o Nuke Kazashimo e Watashi dake. Crunchyroll renders the title as "Beyond the Clouds, Only Me Downwind." The track accompanies the creditless sequence released on premiere day.
The season stays at OLM, directed by Akinori Fudesaka with assistant direction by Wataru Nakagawa. Series composition is by Norihiro Naganuma. Character designs are by Yukiko Nakatani. Music is by Satoru Kosaki, Kevin Penkin and Arisa Okehazama. Aoi Yuki continues as Maomao and Takeo Otsuka as Jinshi.
What the premiere confirms — and what is still a report
Confirmed by premiere coverage: the date, the Japanese channel, the Crunchyroll simulcast, the staff and the Yorushika opening. Outlet reports, including ModeZone citing El Comercio, describe 24 episodes in two cours adapting volumes 5 and 6 of Natsu Hyuuga's light novel, with a second part in April 2027 and an arc that would take Maomao partly beyond the imperial court. That season shape is not in Crunchyroll's opening story; treat it as a report, not as an official premiere fact sheet.
