The Kingdom Hearts Collection [I~III] launches on October 8, 2026 for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via the Microsoft Store. The Kingdom Hearts Collection gathers the three Dark Seeker collections in native builds and, on Nintendo hardware, replaces the games that previously ran only as cloud streams.
What happened?
The Kingdom Hearts Collection includes KINGDOM HEARTS -HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX- (Final Mix, Re:Chain of Memories, II Final Mix, Birth by Sleep Final Mix and cinematic versions of 358/2 Days and Re:coded), KINGDOM HEARTS HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue (Dream Drop Distance HD, χ Back Cover and 0.2 Birth by Sleep) and KINGDOM HEARTS III + Re Mind.
PS5 and Xbox Series digital pre-orders include 48-hour early access to the Kingdom Hearts Collection and to III + Re Mind. Each platform gets an exclusive Keyblade: Midnight Blue on PlayStation, Phantom Green on Xbox and Long Night on Switch 2.
Switch cloud editions are no longer sold and stop working on June 9, 2027. Owners of those titles or Integrum Masterpiece for Cloud can get 50% off native Switch 2 versions, including the Kingdom Hearts Collection. Cloud saves can carry over.
Why it matters
On Switch 1 the saga needed a stable connection. A native Kingdom Hearts Collection on Switch 2 puts the full story on one card or download. On PS5 and Xbox it packs the saga into a single SKU with a short pre-order perk.
In practice
A free Kingdom Hearts III + Re Mind demo is on the Switch 2 eShop: early Olympus progress carries over; the first half of Toy Box does not. The Switch 2 physical edition uses a Game-Key Card. Public prices include about $74.99 / £64.99 on Switch 2 and ¥11,000 on Japanese PS5.
