Kagurabachi: Yuichi Nakamura voices Soshiro Azami, with visual and trailer

The Kagurabachi anime added another cast name. On October 2, 2026, CyberAgent confirmed that Yuichi Nakamura voices Soshiro Azami, a sorcerer affiliated with the Kamunabi. The official site published a character visual, a trailer, and a comment from the actor.

Nakamura wrote that he read the manga for the audition and felt what he calls the recent spirit of Jump. He said he could not stop and read every volume already out, and that he wants to see memorable scenes in the anime. That is the actor's statement, not an announcement of how many arcs the adaptation will cover.

Who was already cast

Azami joins names already confirmed: Taihi Kimura as Chihiro Rokuhira, Tomokazu Seki as Kunishige Rokuhira, Katsuyuki Konishi as Togo Shiba, Miku Ito as Hinao, and Miyari Nemoto as Char Kyonagi. Tetsuya Takeuchi directs at studio Cypic. Keigo Sasaki designs the characters. Shochiku and CyberAgent are on the production committee.

The premiere remains set for April 2027. Worldwide streaming that month excludes Japan, mainland China, North Korea, and South Korea, according to Anime News Network. The tour showing the first 20 minutes of episode 1 has already visited Anime Expo, Japan Expo Paris, ANImagic, and Anime NYC, and ends in Japan in spring 2027 with a screening of the full episode.

The manga behind the announcement

Takeru Hokazono debuted Kagurabachi in Weekly Shonen Jump in September 2023. Shueisha published the 12th volume on September 4. ANN records 2.2 million copies in circulation as of May 2025 and, in the same note, 4 million copies in circulation. Viz publishes the print edition in English; volume eight shipped on August 4. MANGA Plus and Viz's Shonen Jump carry the digital edition.

The series follows Chihiro Rokuhira, son of a famous swordsmith, after a blood-soaked day that leaves him with a blade and revenge. The Azami announcement does not change the premiere date. It adds the voice of one of the Kamunabi sorcerers before the adaptation reaches screens.
