Invincible VS adds Angstrom Levy on October 13 as the third downloadable character and the 21st fighter on the roster. Skybound Games and studio Quarter Up announced the debut alongside the start of Season 2 of the three-versus-three tag fighter.
Who is Angstrom Levy in Invincible VS?
In the comic by Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker and Ryan Ottley, Angstrom was a human who could travel between dimensions. An accident left his brain disfigured and mixed in the memories of alternate versions of himself. Unable to separate his own life from those of other Angstroms, he blames Invincible for the accident and for crimes committed by variants in other dimensions. In Invincible VS, that origin becomes a space-control kit.
How he plays in Invincible VS
Official material describes Angstrom Levy in Invincible VS as a space-control fighter, with an emphasis on setups and strategy. His kit revolves around portals and orbs he summons and commands. Portals work for defense, offense and mobility; placed well, they become traps. Interactions between portals and orbs reward players who experiment instead of repeating one combo.
Angstrom can also be tried at Evo France later this October, ahead of the paid release on October 13. Invincible VS is already available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC via Steam and the Microsoft Store.
Why it matters
Invincible VS is the first major game to take the comic universe into tournament fighting, in a 3-on-3 tag format. Angstrom widens the zoning side of the Invincible VS roster, unlike the more direct fighters from the animated series and the comics.
