Inscryption mobile: game comes to phones after five years with no new DLC

The studio Daniel Mullins Games announced that Inscryption mobile, the mobile version of the acclaimed horror card game released in 2021, is on the way. The news came during an official Twitch stream on October 18, 2026, marking the game’s fifth anniversary, with creator Daniel Mullins participating.

What happened?

There is still no confirmed release date or specific platforms (iOS and/or Android) for Inscryption mobile. The studio said the adaptation is in development and that it prefers to take the necessary time to preserve the atmosphere, identity, and experience that made the game special. More details are expected in the coming months.

At the same time, Daniel Mullins Games confirmed there are no plans for new DLC or content updates. In a Reddit post, the team explained that they consider Inscryption a complete experience both narratively and in gameplay, and do not want to add material merely to extend the work or capitalize on its success.

Why it matters

The studio’s immediate focus is Pony Island 2, the sequel to the 2016 game, scheduled for Steam on April 27, 2027. The arrival of Inscryption mobile represents the first official phone version of an indie title that won a BAFTA for best game design and sold millions of copies, blending roguelike deckbuilding, psychological horror, and fourth-wall breaking.
