Hypercharge Unboxed Switch receives on October 15, 2026, the biggest update in its history. Digital Cybercherries announced that the update is completely free and brings the console edition up to the level of the PC, PlayStation, and Xbox versions, including full crossplay support.
New features include a story mode added to the existing wave mode, with comic-style cutscenes and optional objectives, plus six new bosses (including Cyber T. Rex and Mothership), six enemy types, three new maps, five new weapons, and two playable characters: Major Evil and Teddy the Teddy Bear. There are also new game modes, a refreshed interface, skins, and engine and networking improvements.
Why it took so long
The team explained that part of the delay was due to foundational work: migration to a newer version of Unreal Engine and review of existing systems to ensure stability before adding the new content. The game arrived on Switch in 2020, and the promise of significant updates was made about five years ago.
With crossplay, Switch players will be able to play with friends on other platforms. The update arrives tomorrow, October 15.
