Honor unveiled the Honor Magic9 lineup in Beijing on Monday (September 28). The base model starts at 4,999 yuan and pairs a compact flat display with dual 200-megapixel cameras developed with ARRI and Qualcomm’s fifth-generation Snapdragon 8 Elite.
What happened?
According to live coverage from IT Home and Honor’s official site, the standard Magic9 uses a 6.37-inch LTPS panel with a 10,000-nit peak, 3,840 Hz PWM dimming and Honor’s sleep-friendly display mode. Launch colors are Blast Yellow, Opening White, Curtain Black and Olive Green.
The rear cameras combine a 200 MP main sensor (1/1.4") with a 200 MP 3.5x periscope and a 50 MP ultrawide. Honor promises a full ARRI cinema look pack, zoom flash portraits and 2.39:1 framing. An optional 200 mm converter weighs 88 g and is billed as the lightest pocket teleconverter in its class.
Inside is the fifth-generation Snapdragon 8 Elite, an 8,000 mAh battery, 80 W wired and 50 W wireless charging, Honor’s C3 RF chip and IP68/IP69/IP69K ratings. The front camera is 55 MP. MagicOS 11 ships first on this series, with a 397B agent model built with Alibaba and a dedicated AI key that grabs a screenshot, a clip or a note depending on the press.
The other models
Honor also launched the Magic9 Super Energy: a 6.81-inch display, the same fifth-generation chip, an active fan up to 30,000 rpm and an 11,000 mAh cell, from 4,499 yuan. The Magic9 Pro Max uses the sixth-generation Snapdragon 8 Elite Super (2 nm, Honor says), a 6.8-inch LTPO panel, 8,800 mAh and larger main sensors.
Why it matters
The lineup closes Honor’s 2026 flagship season in China and goes up against the Xiaomi 18 Pro and iQOO 16. Dual 200 MP with an ARRI badge and a 10,000-nit panel are the imaging pitch; the Super Energy SKU, with 11,000 mAh and a real cooler, targets people who game on a phone without buying a branded gaming handset.
What changes in practice
Sales start today in China. Honor has not confirmed a global calendar. Local subsidies change the street price — IT Home lists the 12+256 GB base at 4,499 yuan after the official discount.
