Hone Dragon no Mana Musume becomes a 2027 anime with Kana Hanazawa and Kazuhiko Inoue

The manga Hone Dragon no Mana Musume (The Bone Dragon's Mana Daughter), by Shirayuki Ichi, will become a TV anime in 2027. Doga Kobo is producing the series, with backgrounds by Kusanagi. The announcement and first PV arrived on Thursday, October 8, a date known in Japan as Bone Day.

Who is in the cast

Kana Hanazawa plays Eve, the girl abandoned in the Wastebasket Forest. Kazuhiko Inoue plays Nem, the elderly dragon who finds her and, near the end of his life, becomes the bone dragon that travels with her to human villages. The PV reveals the voices for the first time, alongside two key visuals.

In the story, published on Mag Garden's Mag Comi, Eve and Nem need connections, money and bones to get by among humans. Eve is described as a wild child with a big appetite who likes apples. Nem uses the journey to introduce the girl to his own children, scattered across the world.

What they said

Hanazawa wrote that the animation treats the value of everyday life beside someone important and that she tried to keep the free way Eve lives. The comment was published by Animate Times and Dengeki Online.
