Heavy Metal L-Gaim is returning to Japanese television for the first time in about 42 years. Me-Tele will air two episodes every Sunday at 10:00 a.m. from October 4, 2026, with TVer catch-up.
What happened
The Nagoya station confirmed the rerun on September 27, 2026. The series first aired on Me-Tele and other networks in 1984–1985.
Why now
The broadcast ties into the Me-Tele x Sunrise World shop at Dode Festival 2026 (October 17–18) and a special screening of L-Gaim, Xabungle and Dunbine on October 18.
The series
Directed by Yoshiyuki Tomino after Aura Battler Dunbine, it follows Daba Myroad and the white Heavy Metal L-Gaim across the Pentagona World. 54 episodes. Mamoru Nagano designed the mecha.
Context
