Accounts that monitor the PlayStation Store report that Grand Theft Auto VI will require about 210 GB of storage on PS5 (including PS5 Pro) for the Standard edition. Preload would begin on November 12, 2026, one week before the official launch on November 19 at midnight local time.
What was reported
The information mainly came from the @PlaystationSize account on X, which tracks PlayStation Store size data. Multiple outlets (GameSpot, Dexerto, VideoCardz and others) republished the figure. Insider Gaming stated it independently corroborated the information. There is still no official confirmation from Rockstar Games or Sony on the official store pages.
The size refers to the current build of the Standard edition (around $79.99). There are no publicly confirmed figures for the Ultimate edition or Xbox Series X|S, although similar sizes are expected. A day-one patch could change the final value.
Why it matters
210 GB is nearly one-third of the usable storage on the original PS5 (about 667 GB). Players with large libraries will need to free space in advance. For comparison, Red Dead Redemption 2 occupied about 105 GB. Rockstar has described the GTA 6 map as significantly larger than that of GTA V, which helps explain the volume.
Context and what we still don't know
Rockstar has already confirmed the preload date (November 12) and the November 19 launch for PS5 and Xbox Series. The exact size on official stores has not yet been published. Players are advised to follow official Rockstar channels for the definitive number and possible patches.
