Framework confirmed that pre-orders for the Framework Desktop with 192 GB of unified memory open Wednesday (September 30) in the morning Pacific Time. It is the strongest configuration in the company's compact lineup, aimed at running large AI models at home.
What's inside
The chip is the AMD Ryzen AI Max+ Pro 495 (Gorgon Halo): 16 cores / 32 Zen 5 threads with boost up to 5.2 GHz, an integrated Radeon 8065S GPU with 40 RDNA 3.5 compute units, and an NPU rated at up to 55 TOPS. Framework lists 131 TOPS of combined AI compute.
Memory jumps from 128 GB on the Ryzen AI Max+ 395 model to 192 GB of unified LPDDR5X at 273 GB/s. Up to 160 GB can be allocated to the GPU. Framework says the box can run DeepSeek V4-Flash at Q8 with context left over.
Chassis tweaks
The PCIe x4 slot is now open-ended so longer expansion cards fit. The 192 GB SKU ships with a Noctua fan pre-installed. A pre-built Fedora option will be offered; Windows and other Linux distros are already supported on the Desktop platform.
Price and context
Framework has not posted a price. The 128 GB / 395 Desktop starts around US$ 3,500. Rival mini PCs with the 495 and 192 GB have shown up near US$ 7,000. NVIDIA's DGX Spark, with 128 GB, sits around US$ 5,000.
