Echoes of Sekigahara and the Most Wanted survival mode have started rolling out on PlayStation 5. Sony Interactive Entertainment confirmed delivery on Friday, October 2, 2026, in Japan, one day after Ghost of Yotei Complete Edition launched.
What happened?
According to the statement carried by Famitsu, the Complete Edition reached stores on October 1. The story expansion Echoes of Sekigahara and the combat mode Most Wanted became downloadable on October 2, alongside patch 2.0. Existing owners can upgrade for 1,480 yen including tax in Japan. The full edition costs 8,980 yen.
Echoes of Sekigahara follows swordswoman Atsu between the present and flashbacks of the Battle of Sekigahara. Players meet Nagato, a figure from her past, and explore a new valley tied to the villain Snake and the Vipers. Sony and Sucker Punch also promise new heavy weapons, armor, and gear.
Most Wanted is a single-player survival mode with roguelike elements. The pitch is to face waves of enemies, defeat bosses, and unlock weapons, gear, and playable characters. In September, Sony had already shown Jin Sakai from Ghost of Tsushima as a playable character in this mode.
Why it matters
Ghost of Yotei marks one year on PS5. The Complete Edition bundles the main game, the Legends co-op mode, and the two paid additions. Patch 2.0 also unlocks Beauty of Yotei mode for every owner, turning Ezo landscapes into a kind of screensaver, plus new Watanabe-mode tracks and accessibility options. The base console also received QSSR upscaling this week, already used in Ghost of Yotei.
What changes in practice
Anyone who already owns Ghost of Yotei needs the paid upgrade to play the new story and Most Wanted. The rest of the patch 2.0 improvements arrive at no extra cost. In some Asia-Pacific regions the content unlocked on October 1 because of time zones; in Japan, distribution began on October 2. No PC version has been announced.
