Dynasty Warriors 3 Complete Edition Remastered launches today, October 1, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC via Steam. Koei Tecmo and Omega Force package the 2001 original and the Xtreme Legends expansion together, with rebuilt visuals, new scenarios and the return of local two-player.
What happened?
Koei Tecmo locked the Dynasty Warriors 3 Complete Edition Remastered window in June and also said the planned original Nintendo Switch version would no longer be made. The game remains on Switch 2 with the same announced content as the other platforms.
The standard edition costs $39.99 (¥7,480 in Japan). The Digital Deluxe is $69.99 (¥11,880) and includes 42 retro costumes, extra fusion weapons, the Wind Scroll and Tiger Amulet, Six Secret Teachings and an officer concept-art collection. Pre-orders through September 30 included the Retro-Style Red Hare Saddle. Koei Tecmo left open whether the item returns later.
Why it matters
Dynasty Warriors 3 is one of the most cited Musou chapters, for its roster and for the one-versus-a-thousand pace. This release does not replace Dynasty Warriors 2 Remastered, also out today: they are different PlayStation 2-era games, rebuilt in parallel.
The package brings more than 40 officers from the original roster and adds Ziluan, the protagonist of Dynasty Warriors: Origins. Xtreme Legends adds stories for officers such as Lu Bu, Meng Huo and Yuan Shao, plus bodyguard customization and challenge modes. At TGS 2026, Koei Tecmo also showed a Battle of Hulao Gate demo and noted the images came from an in-development build.
What changes in practice
Combat in Dynasty Warriors 3 Complete Edition Remastered gains these tools, according to Koei Tecmo:
- Evasion: dodge or briefly leave the front line.
- Just Evasion: a timed dodge that opens a counterattack.
- Perfect Power Guard: a block that stuns the attacker and creates an opening.
- Weapon Fusion: transfer elemental attributes and skills from discarded weapons.
Offline two-player returns in split-screen, cooperative or head-to-head, across Musou, Free and VS modes. The Steam page is at store.steampowered.com/app/3841510. Platforms and pricing come from the Koei Tecmo announcement, as reported by Gematsu.
