What happened?
The anime series Dragon Ball Super Beerus premieres today, October 11, 2026, on Japanese television. Produced by Toei Animation and described as an ENHANCED edition of the original Dragon Ball Super, it airs at 11:15 p.m. (Tokyo time) on Fuji Television and FNS affiliates, taking the timeslot previously occupied by One Piece, which has entered a hiatus. More official information is available on the official Dragon Ball site.
In the United States, Canada, Latin America, Australia, New Zealand, India, Southeast Asia, and Europe, Crunchyroll makes the episode available the same day with English subtitles. Hulu also begins streaming the same day in the US. Netflix releases the series on October 14 in some regions and on October 17 in the United States. In Japan, Prime Video and U-NEXT offer the episode about 30 minutes after the television broadcast.
Why is this important?
Dragon Ball Super Beerus is an enhanced remake of the Beerus arc from the original 2015-2018 anime. Toei Animation highlights updated animation, more immersive visuals, and a narrative reconstruction that aims to stay closer to Akira Toriyama's original vision. The series marks the return of the God of Destruction Beerus and the confrontation with Goku and his allies, in a production celebrating Toei's 70th anniversary.
The simultaneous premiere across multiple global platforms reinforces the importance of anime as an international geek culture product. The first episode already had a pre-premiere at New York Comic Con 2026, with the participation of voice actors such as Monica Rial (Bulma), Jason Douglas (Beerus), and Ian Sinclair (Whis).
What changes in practice?
Fans can follow the new version of the Beerus arc with superior visual quality. In Japan, the broadcast is live on free-to-air TV; internationally, Crunchyroll and Hulu allow access on premiere day. Netflix arrives a few days later. The series features an opening by MEGATERA・ZERO and an ending by VK Blanka.
The production does not replace the original anime but offers a renewed experience of the material. Details about the total number of episodes and future continuations have not yet been officially confirmed beyond the Beerus arc premiere.
