Deadlock City Never Sleeps landed on Tuesday, September 29, 2026. Valve's unreleased hero shooter now has a darker Cursed Apple, neutrals called Haunts, six incoming heroes and its biggest concurrent audience ever.
What Deadlock City Never Sleeps changes
The Steam news post and playdeadlock.com list four districts, a gloomier art pass, a clearer HUD, teammate indicators, accessibility options and The Broker selling Corrupted items.
Six heroes and a vote
Nurse Harrow, Mr Rat King, Solomon, Deadman Denny, Baba and Violet will roll out two per week on Tuesdays and Fridays, starting October 2 if the schedule holds. Players vote in-game. Rat King remains the press favorite.
Steam record
Polygon and SteamDB reported more than 228,000 concurrent players. Valve called it the second major overhaul after Old Gods New Blood.
Why Deadlock City Never Sleeps matters
There is still no public 1.0 date, but the patch size and peak show Valve is still investing. Invite holders get a new map and a hero calendar.
