Cyberpunk Edgerunners 2 premieres today, October 20, 2026, exclusively on Netflix. The new anime series, produced in collaboration between CD Projekt Red and the Japanese studio TRIGGER, brings 10 episodes of a standalone story set in the universe of Cyberpunk 2077.
Unlike the first season, which followed David Martinez and Lucy, this is an independent chronicle of redemption and revenge. The central question, according to the official description, is: “when the world is blinded by spectacle, what extremes do you have to go to make your story matter?”
What happened?
The premiere is simultaneous worldwide, with all episodes available at once, starting at 00:00 PDT. The director is Kai Ikarashi, in his series directorial debut (he directed the “Girl on Fire” episode of the original). Character design is by Ichigo Kanno, and the script features Bartosz Sztybor (showrunner and writer of the first season) and Masahiko Otsuka.
A special highlight is the cameo of Hideo Kojima, who returns as Hideyoshi Oshima, the braindance director who appeared in Cyberpunk 2077 during the Konpeki Plaza heist. Confirmation came from the official Edgerunners X profile.
