The official Future GPX Cyber Formula site announced on Friday, September 26, 2026, that the new short Shin Seiki GPX Cyber Formula Asurada and the HD theatrical cut of the TV compilation Early Days Renewal Movie Edition will open together in Japanese cinemas from February 19, 2027.
The date closes the franchise's 35th anniversary cycle. Sunrise's series first aired in 1991. The short was already revealed in April as a direct sequel to Cyber Formula SIN (1998), running about six minutes with traditional animation. On the same day the site announced a virtual exhibit at Anique Museum inside VRChat, planned for January 2027. Visitors will be able to walk the pit, machines and circuit from a spectator or crew point of view. Mubichike sales started today; Animate has a limited bundle.
