Croc 2 Kingdom of the Gobbos remaster launches October 29

The remaster of Croc 2 Kingdom of the Gobbos launches on October 29, 2026. Argonaut Games announced on Thursday that development is complete and that the 1999 classic returns on PS5, Xbox Series, PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam and GOG.

What happened?

The Argonaut statement, carried by Gematsu and on the studio site, confirms a digital launch on October 29. The remaster follows Croc: Legend of the Gobbos, re-released in 2025. Mike Arkin, co-CEO of Argonaut Games, said the date brings back the original open-ended 3D platforming, enhanced visuals and quality-of-life improvements.

In the story, Croc finds a message that his birth parents are searching for him and sets off for the mainland. Baron Dante, resurrected by the Dantinis, vows revenge. The player crosses more than 40 levels and four villages: Sailor, Cossack, Caveman and Inca.

Why it matters

Croc is a symbol of PlayStation-era 3D platforming. Argonaut, founded by Jez San, returned after a long hiatus with the first remaster. The sequel adds a triple jump, vehicles and bosses such as Soveena the Squid, Cannon Boat Keith and Flavio the Thermal Fish. The Croc2pedia archives design documents, cut models and interviews. Price and a physical edition were not detailed on Thursday.
