Control Resonant is finally stepping out of trailers this Tuesday, September 22, 2026. Players who purchased the Digital Deluxe edition on PlayStation 5 can start playing at 10 AM SGT (Singapore Time). The rest of the audience—Xbox, PC, and the standard edition—will only get in on Thursday, the 24th.
What is happening today
Remedy Entertainment has confirmed a 48-hour early access period exclusive to the Digital Deluxe edition on PS5. The global unlock for this window is set for 2 PM UTC, which translates to 10 AM in Singapore. It is not a midnight regional rollout: everyone with the correct edition on PS5 gets in at the exact same time.
The Digital Deluxe version of Control Resonant costs $69.99 and includes the game, a digital artbook, the soundtrack, a starter resource pack, and extra outfits. The standard edition sits at $59.99 and unlocks only on the 24th. On Xbox and PC, even the Deluxe version will not push the clock forward.
What the game is about
Control Resonant is the sequel to Control (2019), now self-published by Remedy. You play as Dylan Faden, Jesse's brother who spent years in the custody of the Federal Bureau of Control in the first game. This time, the stage is not just the Oldest House building: it is a Manhattan distorted by a cosmic threat that alters reality itself.
Combat revolves around the Aberrant, a shape-shifting melee weapon. There are gravity anomalies, large zones to explore, and an Assist mode that lets you tweak enemy aggressiveness and other rules without locking achievements or trophies. Remedy estimates the main campaign will last between 25 and 35 hours.
Platforms and what is missing for now
On September 24, Control Resonant launches on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam and Epic), with day-one support on GeForce NOW. The Mac version is coming later in 2026. The physical edition arrives on October 15. There has been no announcement of a Game Pass release at launch.
PS5 standard edition pre-loading also opens today. On Xbox and PC, the download was already available. File sizes range from 80 to 106 GB depending on the storefront. Official details are available on the Remedy Entertainment website.
Why this matters
September 2026 is packed with heavy hitters. Silent Hill: Townfall just dropped, and Onimusha: Way of the Sword is competing in the same release window. Remedy's Communications Director, Thomas Puha, has already admitted the calendar is "challenging." The early access period on PS5 is Remedy's bet to get Dylan into the gaming conversation two days ahead of the rest of the market.
If you don't own the Deluxe version on PlayStation, the message is simple: today is for downloading, not playing. The general rollout for Control Resonant remains locked in for September 24 at 10 AM SGT.
