Thunder Lotus delays At Fate's End to 2027 and releases a PC demo

Thunder Lotus Games has delayed At Fate's End from its 2026 window to 2027 and released a demo on PC via Steam. The announcement landed Tuesday, October 6, 2026. The action-adventure from the Spiritfarer studio remains planned for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC on Steam, the Epic Games Store, and the Microsoft Store.

What happened?

The Canadian studio did not detail a reason beyond the window change. In return, the demo is already on Steam, alongside a new gameplay trailer. The Verge, which highlighted the game at GDC, confirmed the delay and pointed to the demo as a way to play before launch.

In the official description, At Fate's End is an adventure where you fight the ones you love and your skill tree is your family tree. The lead is Shan, young heiress of the Hemlock clan, wielding the god sword Aesus. Players solve narrative puzzles, uncover painful truths, and face estranged siblings in duels that decide the family's fate.

Why it matters

Thunder Lotus is known for Spiritfarer, a game about farewell and emotional management, not combat. At Fate's End shifts the tone toward family duels with narrative weight. Moving from 2026 to 2027 takes the title out of a crowded year-end and gives the studio more production time.

What changes in practice?

Anyone expecting the game in 2026 needs a new calendar. The PC demo lets players try combat and puzzles without a fixed launch date. Consoles remain planned, but the public sample is Steam-only for now. No specific month inside 2027 has been set.

  • Previous window: 2026
  • New window: 2027, no month confirmed
  • Demo: PC via Steam, available now
  • Full game: PS5, Xbox Series, Steam, Epic, and Microsoft Store
