Anthropic reports nearly $17 billion revenue in Q3 ahead of IPO

Anthropic revealed in an amended IPO prospectus that third-quarter 2026 revenue reached about $16.96 billion, roughly 12 times higher than the same period a year earlier.

Sequential growth slowed to about 47% from the second quarter, after larger jumps in prior quarters. The company also reported an operating loss of about $567 million in the quarter, influenced by high short-term compute costs.

Massive infrastructure commitments by Anthropic

The filing highlights future purchase commitments of about $895.4 billion, mostly related to computing and AI infrastructure, with partners such as Amazon and Google. The company plans to list on Nasdaq under the ticker ANT.

Why Anthropic revenue matters

The numbers show the accelerated growth pace of Anthropic, maker of Claude, as it prepares for a potentially historic IPO, with valuations discussed around $1.5 trillion. High compute costs remain a point of attention for investors.
