True Saint anime set for January 2027, with Kanako Hara on the score

The anime of Because I, the True Saint, was Banished, that Country is Done For! now has a premiere window: January 2027. Bandai Namco Filmworks posted the teaser on Saturday, October 3, and Anime News Network reported the update the same day.

The adaptation itself is not new. Shikiso Utsuzawa's light novels, illustrated by Pukyunosuke, had the anime announced in July 2026 with a generic 2027 debut. What changes now is the month and the score: Kanako Hara, credited on Blue Orchestra TV 2 and A Destructive God Sits Next to Me, is composing the music.

Staff already confirmed

Tsukasa Sakurai directs at Tsumugi Akita Anime Lab. Naoki Tozuka handles series scripts and Naru Nishikōri character design. In the lead cast, Masumi Tazawa is Eliane and Taku Yashiro is Nigel. The official site is the source ANN cites for the video.

The story began in June 2020 on Shōsetsuka ni Narō. Kodansha started publishing the books in January 2021; the seventh volume shipped in Japan in December 2024. Mokuba Matsu's manga debuted in April 2021 on the Palcy app and reached its 13th volume on July 30. Kodansha USA has published the manga in English since 2024.

Eliane is the saint of the kingdom of Belkheim until a prince, swayed by a false saint, breaks the engagement and banishes her. Homeless and penniless, she tries for an ordinary life in the neighboring kingdom. Kodansha USA's synopsis treats a chance meeting on the road as the point that upends that plan.

There is still no exact day, broadcaster, or international streaming window. The October 3 announcement locks the month and the composer, not the full schedule.
