Amayo no Tsuki anime gets a PV with Iori Saeki and Sora Amamiya, premieres in 2027

The anime of Amayo no Tsuki (The Moon on a Rainy Night) received its main cast and a first PV with voices, announced on October 7, 2026. A Japanese TV premiere in 2027 was confirmed, according to Comic Natalie and Dengeki Online.

What happened?

Saki Kindaichi will be voiced by Iori Saeki. Kanon Oikawa, the classmate who is hard of hearing, goes to Sora Amamiya. The Amayo no Tsuki PV shows their meeting on a rainy night and the first steps of their growing closeness. It is the first time the protagonists' voices are heard.

The score is by jizue, an instrumental band from Kyoto. The theme already appears in the trailer. Dengeki also reported that the project will appear at Machi Asobi vol. 31.

Who is making the series

  • Director: Tomoe Makino
  • Series composition and scripts: Shogo Yasukawa
  • Character design: Ayumi Nishibata
  • Studio: CompTown
  • Original manga: Kuzushiro, published by Kodansha

The Amayo no Tsuki adaptation had already been pointed to 2027 by REMOW at Anime NYC in August. The October announcement does not give a month or a broadcaster. What changes now is the cast, the music and the first video with dialogue.

What Amayo no Tsuki is about

Saki, on her way to a piano lesson, bumps into a long-haired girl on a rainy night. The next day the stranger is at the desk beside her: Kanon, who is not completely deaf but has significant hearing loss. The story follows the distance between them and the worries each one carries that cannot be seen from the outside.

In a comment published by Comic Natalie, Iori Saeki said the manga delicately draws changing emotions and the distance between people, and that she thought carefully about how to translate that world in her performance.

Why it matters

Amayo no Tsuki is one of the 2027 anime with an audience already built by the manga, including outside Japan, where Kodansha USA licenses the work. The October PV moves the adaptation past a visual teaser and puts known names at the center.
