The free 007 First Light Extended Operations DLC arrived on October 1, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC. Update 1.3.0, announced by IO Interactive, adds New Game+, Photo Mode, a 00 difficulty, new weapons and outfits, and more TacSim content.
What happened?
In the official 1.3.0 notes, IO Interactive says 007 First Light Extended Operations is a free DLC. The client updated at 12:00 UTC. Download sizes are about 11.9 GB on PS5, 14 GB on Steam, 13.5 GB on Xbox Series, 8 GB on Microsoft PC, and 13.6 GB on the Epic Games Store.
New Game+ unlocks only after a full campaign clear. Players can change outfits from the journal and restart from a checkpoint. Gadgets can be swapped mid-mission, but only with gear already unlocked at that point in the story. The 00 difficulty, the hardest setting, makes enemies spot you faster, hit harder, and restores only a fraction of gadget resources.
Photo Mode freezes the scene and lets players adjust the camera, overlays, filters, effects, and poses. In TacSim, Valhalla Protocol puts James Bond behind the wheel of the Aston Martin Valhalla, with machine guns and missile launchers, on a course in Slovakia. Jungle Heist returns to The Pearl hotel in Vietnam to recover documents from a safe, with each attempt playing out differently.
There are also the Storm 12 Gauge (clearance 20, 6,000 Intel) and the Squire Marksman Rifle (clearance 18, 4,000 Intel), the Observant Spy, Leisure Beam, and First Class outfits, Jack the bulldog at MI6 HQ — who can be petted — and the Grey Standard outfit for anyone who links an IOI Account by November 1. A Twitch Drop called One More runs from October 1 to October 16. IO also refined weapon animations and lists more than 700 fixes, including PS5 trophy issues and crashes.
Why it matters
007 First Light is IO Interactive’s reimagined origin story for James Bond, from the studio behind Hitman. The free DLC answers frequent requests for New Game+ and Photo Mode and expands TacSim. According to Gematsu, the Nintendo Switch 2 version is still planned for March 2027.
What changes in practice
Players who finished the campaign can replay 007 First Light Extended Operations with free outfits and swappable gadgets, or try the 00 difficulty. Those looking for new content get Valhalla Protocol and Jungle Heist at no extra cost. Full notes are on IO Interactive’s site.
