IO Interactive released the free Extended Operations DLC for 007 First Light on Thursday, October 1, 2026. Extended Operations arrives in update 1.3.0 and bundles requests the community has made since the May launch: New Game+, 00 difficulty, Photo Mode and new TacSim missions.
The Copenhagen studio and Amazon MGM Studios announced the pack together. In the trailer, game director Dominic Vega described it as a thank-you to players who have been with the game since release.
What Extended Operations adds
New Game+ unlocks after finishing the campaign on any difficulty. Players can then restart the story from the beginning or from a completed checkpoint, with unlocked outfits and gadgets. IO calls this set Suit Loadout and gadget flexibility.
00 difficulty is the hardest way to play. Patch notes say enemies react faster to bodies and disturbances, some guard archetypes become tougher variants, and gadget use is restricted inside a guard's line of sight. Combat is less forgiving, with two-hit kills, tighter parry and side-step windows, and less agency restored in a fight. Notes also say foes spot the agent faster, hit harder, and resources restore only a fraction of gadget use.
Photo Mode freezes the action with one button and lets players adjust pose, lighting, lens and filters. In TacSim, Valhalla Protocol puts the Aston Martin Valhalla on the Slovakian mountains by day and night in timed challenges, with the option to mount rocket launchers on the car. Jungle Heist sends Bond back to the Pearl resort in Vietnam to retrieve documents from a safe and escape to a rooftop; the villa interior was redesigned for more stealth routes.
Gameplay tweaks and fixes
The update also refines weapon-handling animation for more precision in Bond's movement and weapon behaviour. Another requested change: enemies can now throw the spy off a ledge, a move that used to be Bond's alone.
Version 1.3.0 notes cite more than 700 fixes and improvements, from crashes and progression blockers to audio, localization and UI. New TacSim weapons include the Storm 12 Gauge shotgun and the Squire Marksman Rifle. New outfits include Observant Spy, Leisure Beam and First Class.
Why it matters
007 First Light, from IO Interactive, is a James Bond origin action-adventure in which the agent is still an MI6 recruit. The developer says the game passed 4 million copies sold in three months. Extended Operations does not change the price of entry, but it raises campaign replay value and answers criticism about the missing Photo Mode and a harder difficulty.
The content is already available on the platforms where the game launched, including PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and Nintendo Switch 2.
