Yellow Card, a global provider of stablecoin payments infrastructure, completed in October 2026 the acquisition of GoMoney, a Brazilian virtual asset service provider (VASP) based in São Paulo. The deal was announced on Tuesday, November 4, 2026, in an official statement distributed by PR Newswire.
With the acquisition, Yellow Card now has a direct presence in Brazil, the largest cryptocurrency market in Latin America. For clients, the deal adds local collections and disbursements in Brazilian reais, including through Pix, with settlement in stablecoins, integrated with the treasury and liquidity services the company already offers in other markets.
GoMoney, founded in 2018, will continue to be led by its founders and will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of Yellow Card. The company has applied to the Banco Central do Brasil (BCB) for authorization to operate as a virtual asset service provider under Law No. 14,478/2022 and BCB Resolution No. 519/2025, and continues to operate under Brazil's transitional regime while the application is reviewed. Final authorization remains subject to the BCB's review and approval.
“Building global financial infrastructure requires compliance with local frameworks, local payment rails, and local expertise and relationships to operate effectively,” said Chris Maurice, Co-Founder and CEO of Yellow Card. “GoMoney has built a strong foundation in Brazil over the last eight years, and bringing our businesses together will allow us to deliver greater value to customers while accelerating our long-term ambitions.”
Brazil represents a significant opportunity for stablecoin-powered financial services.
The Brazilian market
According to Chainalysis, the country recorded $252.5 billion in cryptocurrency activity between July 2025 and June 2026, making it Latin America's largest cryptocurrency market. The report also found that stablecoin activity in Brazil increased 495% across its 2024–2026 comparison period, driven in part by business use cases such as cross-border transfers and liquidity management.“We have spent the last eight years building a virtual asset service provider business in Brazil focused on using stablecoins as a means of effecting cross-border payments,” said Maurício Pires, founder and chief executive of GoMoney. “We are excited to become part of the Yellow Card team, and look forward to expanding our business in Brazil and throughout Latin America.”
Context
The acquisition follows Yellow Card's $40 million financing in August 2026, which included investments from Standard Chartered Bank and Sony, and recent regulatory approvals and registrations in Canada, Switzerland, Nigeria, Ghana and Zimbabwe. The financial terms of the GoMoney purchase were not disclosed.
