Xbox announces Nano Controller: the smallest controller in history for $49.99

Microsoft announced on Wednesday (14) the Xbox Nano Controller, the smallest controller ever released by the brand. The accessory measures a little over 5 inches in length, weighs about 3.5 ounces (100 grams) and costs $49.99.

Despite the reduced size — shorter and lighter than most modern smartphones — the controller keeps all 18 standard buttons of a conventional Xbox Wireless Controller. It includes a rechargeable battery via USB-C, Xbox Wireless and Bluetooth support, plus a programmable Action Button that can be configured for screenshots, gameplay capture and other shortcuts.

Who is the Nano for?

Microsoft positions the controller for younger players, people with smaller hands and those seeking portability. The compact design makes it easy to carry in pockets or bags to play in different places, whether on console, PC, phone, tablet or compatible smart TVs.

Pre-orders are already open. Availability begins in November in dozens of markets, including Brazil, the United States, Japan, South Korea and several European countries. In Brazil, the suggested price reported by Xbox Wire in Portuguese is R$ 379.

The company also announced holiday partnerships in the US: bundles with Samsung TVs and with Meta Quest that include the Nano Controller and two months of Game Pass Ultimate for new subscribers.

The Nano arrives on the same day Sony announced a special Gran Turismo DualSense, reinforcing the accessories push for the holiday season.
