Nara Studio has released the “Welcome to the Valley” trailer for Wonderful Neoran Valley, a narrative-driven roguelite monster-collector coming to PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC via Steam in 2028. The video shows the first meeting of the protagonists: the Knight, voiced by Troy Baker, and the dragon Iris, voiced by Ben Starr.
The game is set in the Valley, a colourful world inhabited by the Neoran, creatures combining animal and plant forms and shaped by a primal life force called Neura. According to the official description, the Neoran can speak, have complex emotions and personal goals, and getting to know them through dialogue is key to recruiting them and unlocking their true potential in battle.
In turn-based combat, the Knight's clairvoyance is the key twist: a timeline reveals the next seven turns, letting players anticipate enemy moves and combine Neoran abilities into synergies. In total, the game promises 85 unique creatures, varied biomes and unpredictable roguelite runs.
Beneath the vibrant surface, however, lies a darker secret: aberrations known as Neura Clusters are corrupting the world, and the truth must be uncovered one run at a time. It is this contrast between the playful visuals and horror elements that the studio highlights in the game's identity.
Wonderful Neoran Valley was successfully Kickstarted in March, passing its €100,000 goal to reach €923,091, unlocking stretch goals such as professional voice acting and the Switch 2 and PS5 versions. The game can already be wishlisted on Steam, and March 2028 is reported as a launch target, not a confirmed date.
