Warrior Cats: Clans of the Forest is out now on PC and consoles. Developed by Bamtang Games and published by Trailmark Games with Four Trees Media, the action-adventure RPG is the first officially licensed video game adaptation of Erin Hunter's Warriors book series, released on 23 October 2026 for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
Four Clans, four stories
Instead of playing an established character from the books, players create their own warrior cat and choose one of four Clans, each with a full campaign shaped by its culture, conflicts and traditions. Decisions affect relationships, reputation, quests and story paths as the character rises through the ranks.
The journey crosses the Lake Territories, including forests, marshes, moorlands and sacred places such as the Moonpool and the Island. Players hunt prey, gather resources, craft items, explore hidden routes, solve environmental puzzles and investigate mysteries tied to StarClan.
Turn-based combat and customisation
Combat is turn-based, with battles of up to three versus three. There are 75 moves to discover and unlock, plus combat stances, Clan-specific abilities and StarClan ancestor attacks. Enemies include badgers, foxes, dogs and rival Clan cats, as well as bosses.
The Cat Creator offers fur patterns, colours, tails, whiskers, ears, eyes and markings. Players can also customise their den with beds, scratching posts and other craftable items, and visit friends' dens asynchronously online. Beside the story mode, known as Prophecy Mode, there is Defender, a boss-rush mode, and Skirmish, an asynchronous multiplayer mode.
Editions and prices
The standard digital edition costs US$29.99 in the United States, £24.99 in the United Kingdom and €29.99 in Europe. The Feral Edition, at US$39.99, £34.99 or €39.99 depending on region, includes the full game and the Prophecy Pack, with eight extra Cat Creator elements, 12 wearable accessories, a cel-shaded skin, four photo-mode poses and four photo-mode effects.
Physical editions for Nintendo Switch 2 and PlayStation 5 arrived with the digital launch. The physical Xbox Series X|S edition is set for 6 November. Prices and availability may vary by store and region, so check each platform's official page before buying.
