Votoms: Die Graue Hexe trailer points to a November 20 release

Votoms: Die Graue Hexe is back with a new trailer for the two-part project. Part 1 opens in Japanese theaters on November 20, 2026, directed by Mamoru Oshii.

What happened?

Anime news accounts, including Manga Mogura, circulated a new trailer. Crank In! describes an original two-part feature tied to Sunrise's 50th anniversary. Oshii directs and co-writes, with Kei Yamamura also on the screenplay. Supervision sits with Ryosuke Takahashi, creator of the 1983 series. Manga Mogura also cites Production I.G.

The story is set near the end of an almost 100-year war between Gilgamesh and Balarant. Officer Maki Stauffenberg investigates Ash Vamps, a soldier who returns from every operation and is called a witch. Miyuki Sawashiro voices Ash. Mabuki Ando voices Maki.

Why it matters

This is a new theatrical film, not a compilation. Oshii, director of Ghost in the Shell, worked on the franchise in the 1980s.
