What is Vi Intelligence
Vodafone Idea (Vi), one of India's leading telecom operators, announced on November 4, 2026 the launch of Vi Intelligence, its strategic artificial intelligence initiative to accelerate AI-led transformation across its own operations and for customers and enterprises across industries.
At the centre of the initiative is the Vi Intelligence Lab, created in partnership with PwC India. The lab will work as an innovation engine to develop, incubate and scale enterprise AI solutions, combining Vi's digital and network infrastructure with PwC's business transformation expertise.
How the lab will work
PwC India will set up a dedicated Centre of Excellence team, co-located with Vi in Mumbai, to work alongside the operator's technology teams. The lab is also expected to connect global AI companies, startups, research groups and enterprises to solve real business problems.
The Vi Intelligence Lab will be structured around three strategic pillars: agentic AI, assistive AI and sovereign and responsible AI. Every use case will pass through GRACIE, Vi's Responsible AI framework, which the company says ensures the ethical and secure use of data, intellectual property and AI systems.
The announcement was presented by Jagbir Singh, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Vi, and Vinish Bawa, Partner and Leader for Telecommunications, Media and Technology at PwC India. The companies have not disclosed the financial terms of the partnership, the number of participating enterprises or specific timelines for commercial deployment. Those points remain without official confirmation.
