The Witcher 3 Remastered needs real disk space. On September 25, CD Projekt RED community director Marcin Momot posted the sizes on X for the free update due September 29, 2026.
- PC (Steam): about 45 GB, depending on language packs;
- PS5: about 45 GB;
- Xbox Series X|S: about 45 GB;
- Nintendo Switch 2: about 50 GB as a separate product.
On PC, PS5 and Xbox the remaster is a patch to the existing game, so there is no preload. On Switch 2 it ships as its own edition.
Owners on those platforms get the upgrade for free. Saves and trophies carry over, according to earlier CDPR notes. The remaster also sets up Songs of the Past in 2027.
