SHIFT UP released the demo for Stellar Blade Complete Edition on the Nintendo eShop for Switch 2 this Sunday (20). The announcement coincides with the final in-person phase of Tokyo Game Show 2026, where the game was playable at Sega's booth and CEO Kim Hyung-tae discussed the port.
What happened?
According to 4Gamer and outlets like RPG Site, the demo is already available on the console—though in some cases it may not appear on the web store yet, it can be found directly on the device's eShop. The reported download size is around 6.1 GB.
The complete version arrives on November 6, 2026 in Japan (November 5 in Western markets), priced at 7,980 yen. It is the most comprehensive package of the 2024 action game: featuring the original campaign, the NieR:Automata DLC, the Goddess of Victory: Nikke DLC, and the new free crossover with Bayonetta, which includes four outfits (featuring Bayonetta, Jeanne, and a nun suit).
What does this mean?
Stellar Blade debuted on PS5 before heading to PC. On Switch 2, SHIFT UP has promised to maintain close to 60 fps utilizing upscaling and frame generation. According to the developer, the physical edition includes the entire game on the cartridge—with no game-key cards.
At TGS, Kim Hyung-tae stated that the Complete Edition is not the end of the line for the franchise and that the team continues to work on new content. The port also supports Joy-Con 2 motion controls for non-combat activities, such as fishing.
In practice
Switch 2 owners can now test EVE's combat pacing—parries, dodges, and swordplay in post-apocalyptic settings—without waiting for November. Those who have already played on PS5 or PC are using the demo primarily to check out how the handheld port feels. Pre-ordering on the eShop unlocks extra cosmetics at launch.
